One of the most striking and intriguing elements of photography for me is the use of contrasting light and dark. Shadows, reflections, light rays all highlight the unique qualities of light which are emphasized through the lens.
In this case, the fog machine enables the eye and camera to see otherwise invisible light and further amplifies the contrast.
The kids each wanted “their own” turn playing in the sunny fog. It’s amazing how the brief moments they were there truly highlighted their personalities. From my heart-filled oldest, to my carefree middle, to my rambunctious littlest (and yes, one is missing! He happened to be at a hockey game.)
Naturally, Momma had to get in on the action too ❤
I am part of a group of photographers, Share Six, who blog 6 images on the 6th of each month with unique monthly themes. (Yes, I recognize that this month had a few more than 6 :). Next up is the talented Kathy of KG Ledbetter Photography! Please click HERE for her interpretation of this month’s theme. Then, follow around the circle for even more beauty and creativity. ❤
Join us for this month’s theme by posting your Contrast images on our Facebook page at Share Six and to our Instagram gallery, by tagging #sharesix and #sharesix_contrast. A new theme will be posted on April 6th.

I love these, Elizabeth! And your fog machine looks so fun! I don’t have any such blinds in my house, but am tempted to put some, somewhere, just for photos. Crazy, right? =D

You have the perfect spot of light for these contrast images and I love the effects that you get with the fog machine. I love the third from the bottom black and white image.
