For this month’s blog circle, “white” is the themed color. As the white lights twinkle in my home and throughout the community, I’m struck by the nature of light.

It is here that I find my inspiration for this post. For, photography requires light. It’s what defines, shapes, leads, and creates a photograph. Embracing the elements, envision water, in its various forms and illuminated, captured still.

I’m often astonished at how the light, that appeared as white or colorless to the human eye, becomes the full spectrum of colors through the lens. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to experience God’s creation in this magical and deep way.

May these images cause you to pause. To reflect. To embrace the wonder in your immediate surroundings. To share thankfulness. And please share in the comments below which, if any, of these images spoke to your heart and why?

  2. So so beautiful. Every single one of them. They all spoke to me. But honestly, the freelensed close up of the bokeh (6th image) with the rainbow is my favorite. I love how the light plays in this image and reminds us how we have the ability to bend it a little to see every color. It truly is wonderful.

    • Thank you so much, Holly! The photo with the rainbow is actually using a Lensbaby Velvet 56 – it’s crazy because I can’t see it through the viewfinder and then all of a sudden there is a rainbow in my photograph ❤ Light always surprises us, doesn't it? ❤

  3. These are beautiful LIz. I love water drops and their reflections inside them and you captured them so well. My favorite image though is the last one with that smokey effect. A great share this month.
