Pink

10 years ago this beautiful child waltzed into our lives. Small, yet mighty. Fragile, yet determined. (Our little one, full-term but 5 1/2 lb.) Pastel paper-stuffed “It’s a Girl” scripted gift bags filled with pink preemie outfits and pink balloons bopping in the autumn breeze greeted us, a family of 3.

She brought light and hope into our hearts. God’s love continues to pour through her – to refresh and uplift.

My dear Lydia humbles me daily by her thoughtfulness, consideration, and generosity. Her wants are few, her appreciation abundant.

I went about capturing her present-opening with a “documentary” style in mind: no posing, nothing forced, no rearranging or removing. Simply the moment as it unfolded (and some quiet, curl-twirling moments to follow).

Clinging to the joys of little-girlhood while on the cusp of entering the big-girl world: I’m cherishing 10 and this true gift. ❤
